This trip that we took to Disney World was absolutely magical!! Seeing our son’s face when he saw Mickey was just priceless. The detail that was put into our resort and all the theme parks were amazing! The memories that were made are everlasting and what’s great is that our son will remember this trip for the rest of his life.
We had the the best time. All the rides were fun and it just made you feel like you were a kid again. I would definitely re. It will be something that you and your family will never forget. Although it was amazing, I wish we knew some things before we booked our trip to Disney World. Here are some tips that I think that will help with your planning process.
12 Tips That You Should Know Before You Book Your Trip To Disney World
Tip 1. Choosing the best age to take your kids. This is just my personal opinion, but I believe anywhere between the ages of 7-10 is the best age to take your kids to Disney World. I think at this age they are able to remember the trip and they are old enough to ride most or all the rides. If the rides are not important and it’s more of meeting the characters, then a younger age would be just as great.
Tip 2. Taking backpacks and a backpack cooler was a lifesaver. We were able to ride all the rides with our backpacks. We saved over 500.00 by packing lunches, water, and snacks in our cooler. We also packed umbrellas, ponchos, sunblock, hand sanitizer, autograph book, drivers license, and a pen into our backpack.
Tip 3. It was worth it to us to get the memory maker. A memory maker is a package of pictures from your trip at Disney World. There are photographers everywhere and there are cameras in most of the rides. Our pictures turned out awesome! The memory maker can come with the package if you are staying at one of the disney resorts.
Tip 4. The bracelets worked out great! We got the package deal with staying at a Disney’s resort and we got magic bands. We uploaded our credit card to our band at our resort. We never had to carry cash on us. The band gets you into your room, the parks, and you can use it to pay for any purchases you want to make.
Tip 5. Fast passes are worth it! If you don’t know what a fast pass is, it is a pass to get in a separate line. When you get a fast pass you get a total of 3 passes. You then get an hour of blocked time in order to make it to that ride. Once you have used all 3 passes you can go to any fast pass kiosk at DW to get another pass. You can only get one at a time after your original 3 passes. These passes are awesome! We never waited more than 20 minutes, but most of the wait times were under 15 minutes.
Tip 6. Don’t waste your fast passes on the shows because they make you slide all the way to the end. We never had a fast pass for a show and every time we were upfront and center. Only use your fast passes for the most popular rides.
Tip 7. Make reservations for the restaurants beforehand. It is vital that you have reservations or you will not be able to eat.
Tip 8. I would not recommend doing a dining plan especially if you are on a budget. We had reservations at a restaurant once a day, usually for dinner. This saved us a lot of money. To give you an idea on the price range, each meal ran us over 100 dollars for 2 adults and 1child not including gratuity. This also allowed us more time to ride rides and see shows.
Tip 9. The Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian Resort was awesome! We have been to a luau in Hawaii and the Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show was way better and the food was better as well.
Tip 10. Make sure when you are making reservations at a restaurant that it is in the same park that you are at. There are four parks at DW and they are all huge. You have to make your reservation on time or they will charge you.
Tip 11. Doing the package deal for the Fantasmic Show is a must. It was such a great deal. You get to choose a restaurant for the Fantasmic dinner package. We chose Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano and It was amazing! The best restaurant that we went to at Disney. You get an appetizer, entree, dessert, and vip tickets to the Fantasmic Show. We got upfront seats right in the middle. I’m so glad we did this package.
Tip 12. If you are able to stay at a disney resort; do it. By staying at a resort you get the whole experience. There is also many kid activities at the resort. By staying at a disney resort you get extra disney hours. That means you get an extra hour before or after the park is open to the public. This worked out so great for us!
There are many more pointers I could give with just this one trip. I hear the more you go the more things you learn how to make the trip better. If you have any questions at all I would love to answer them.
