When you see the title “Appreciate Your Bad Experiences” it almost makes you think it sounds ridiculous. As crazy as it sounds it can be very true to learning and growing from past experiences. You can look at a bad situation in two ways. It can either be a blessing in disguise in some way, or it can leave you bitter and worst off. My pick is for a bad situation is to teach me something.
We all can probably think of at least 1 bad experience in our life. Some of us may even have a very recent bad experience with Hurricane Harvey. It’s important to get to a point of accepting the situation and to make the best out of it.
Tips with Bad Experiences
Keep positive– Don’t go down the road of asking why did this happen to me? This can lead to depression and it can lead to losing all sense of purpose. That’s not the road you want to go on. Find the positives and concentrate on that.
Nothing lasts forever– Keep in mind that the situation is only temporary.
Laugh through it– Laughing is a great stress reliever. It can take your mind off of your situation and it can really lift your spirits up.
Acknowledge the bad experience– You want to make sure you don’t just block the bad experience. Acknowledge it and accept it. From there that’s where you start to grow from it.
Appreciate– Find something that the bad situation has taught you and that’s what you appreciate. You appreciate the lesson.
These are things that have helped me and that have helped others that I have worked with in the past. I only write on my personal experiences. I am not a expert, so please consult with a doctor for all medical and mental health advice.
