Sweaters and boots, the smell of cinnamon, delicious coffee, pumpkins, apple pie, cute fall decor, and family traditions are what make me think of the fall season. Isn’t it crazy that fall is here? Before too long the weather should be cooling off. It will be time to take out those sweaters and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while being outside in the cool weather.
I absolutely love fall. I enjoy everything about it! My favorite part of fall has got to be drinking all sorts of hot drinks. If you come to my house you will find an extensive collection of coffee mugs. My husband, (Mr. PBL) says I have a coffee mug addiction. Is anyone else like this? For me as long as I put them to good use it shouldn’t be a problem, right? I love to experiment and try new things. I created a mouthwatering drink using one my favorite ingredients NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, which has no artificial flavor or colors. You can find this key ingredient at your local Walmart store.
Cinnamon Chocolate Mocha Coffee Drink:
1 cup of hot coffee of your choice
½ tsp of sugar
¼ tsp of Cinnamon
2 tbs of NESTLÉ® Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
Stir until dissolved.
Whip cream as a topping to taste
I like to add some chocolate morsels on top of the whip cream.
Family traditions are important in my culture and in my family. It’s great to know that we can pass down our family traditions to our son. Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is coming up really soon, which is a day of honoring our loved ones who have passed. Our son is old enough now that he is starting to understand what this day means. In our family it is a tradition to pray for our loved ones and to devout the day to remembering our family members that have passed on. It’s great that we are able to do this through sharing a cup of coffee with NESTLÉ®.
Día de Los Muertos is a little bit more special than normal because I had two uncles that we were close to us that passed last year. The uncle that we were closest to was my dad’s brother. He actually lived down the street from my parents. Every morning my dad would go to my uncle’s house to drink a cup of coffee with him. They would talk and laugh over coffee. I remember this happening since I was a little girl. I can still hear his laugh and see his smile.
It doesn’t even seem like he has been gone that long. He will be forever missed. We will honor my uncle by drinking this Cinnamon Chocolate Mocha and hopefully this family tradition will stay alive through our son.
