It has been way too long since I’ve posted, but I promise I have a good reason. Our life at the moment has changed drastically. If you follow me on any of the my social media handles such as Facebook or Instagram, then you may already know what’s been going on. Mr. PBL, my husband, was laid off a while back and he had to find a new job. His job is now in Austin Texas. We are officially living in Austin and our house is on the market in Houston.
We are in temporary housing for two months. The process of this all has been such a headache and time consuming. For the last month we were decluttering and cleaning our home inside out, painting, staging our home, and taking pictures. It had been exhausting! Not to mention trying to keep the home spotless while living in it.
We are currently living in a hotel until our apartment is ready. We have two months to find a place to live. It’s scary because we have no idea where we are going to live. The house hunting hasn’t been going so well. Also because of the uncertainty of where we are going to live I’ll be homeschooling our son for the time being. Through all of this it’s been rough, but I know everything will end up working out the way it should.
I know this happens to a lot of people, but when you are unprepared it can be a bit too much. I have a couple of tips that could help you if you are going through a life change like this.
Tips To Getting Through It All
- Stay positive and try to not let your mind wonder to think of the worst
- Eat proper meals at proper times
- Exercise regularly
- Drink plenty of water
- Find some quiet time to pray or to meditate
- Get plenty of sleep
- Find time to do something fun
- Stay calm and grounded
Okay, so you might think these are all common sense things and that I’m ridiculous. You wouldn’t believe how busy you get when you are trying to sell your home. You might be surprised, but there were many nights that we were eating at 9pm at night. I’ve gone all day and didn’t realize till the end of the day that I forgot to drink water. During this process I didn’t have time to workout and we were going to bed really late. You wouldn’t imagine how all of these tips can really improve your mood if you just take time to take care of yourself and your family.
I know the instability of our situation won’t last forever. Things will get better, but for now I just wanted to let you know what has been going on. I hope you will be patient with me until we can get things situated. I hope to pick up my normal schedule really soon!
