Positivity is Contagious

It almost seems impossible to look past the negative when family, friends, friend of friends are sick, dying, losing jobs, losing homes, marriages are failing, and etc… the list goes on and on. I find it harder and harder to see any kind of positivity.

I am constantly hearing of strife happening to others or I’m experiencing it myself. I have a long list of prayers and I just can’t keep up. It’s depressing because I feel like everything is beyond my control. Can you relate to this? Do you ever feel, when are things going to get better?

We all go through our seasons. The important thing is to never give up. Keep going, keep praying, and keep positive. If we all look hard enough we can find beautiful things in each day.

“Miracles happen everyday, change your perception of what a miracle is and you’ll see them all around you.” –Jon Bon Jovi

Just like a smile or a yawn is contagious so is positivity. When your spouse comes home in a bad mood, or your child had a hard day at school, let the negativity role off, take a deep breath, and be the brightness that your family needs. It all starts with a smile!

For the rest of the world, there will always be bad things. Our lives won’t be perfect. If there isn’t anything bad then nothing would ever be good. Even in the worst circumstances there is something positive. In a recent post I talk about how our family changed our thinking. Click here to see How Positive Thinking Changed Our Family.

We can’t control what happens to others and we can’t control what happens to us, but we can control how we react. My favorite  go to prayer is the Serenity Prayer.

Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
